(ActiveSkywxRe) with Fsbuild 2.0
- Go to the Options/Export Directories page.
- Find the ActiveSky row in the Export Directories table, click on the 'Browse' button to find
and select your ActiveSky folder. Press 'Ok' when done.
- Go to the 'Settings' tab and press the 'Save Config Options' button.
- Shut down, and restart Fsbuild for the new settings to take effect.
- Start ActiveSkywxRe and download the latest winds aloft data.
- Go to the 'Build' menu and select/check the 'apply winds aloft data' menu option.
- Build the Flight plan you wish to use and you will see the HeadWind/Tailwind component in the last column on the far left of the route waypoint table (positive is TW negtive is HW). In the Navlog you will see the wind speed and direction as well as the wind corrected heading.
Fsbuild will always use the latest ActiveSky .wxd file it can find so you'll need to remember to refresh your
ActiveSky winds aloft data before your next build if you want the latest winds aloft data included.
Notes:
- Only ActiveSkywxRe is supported, not the freeware 'ActiveSky' program, as the freeware version does not provide
winds aloft data.
- After the build is complete the temperature for the departure airport is taken from the METAR data and put in the temperature box on the aircraft page. This temperature will be used in determining the takeoff V-speeds.
