Yes,i really do not understand the reason this fails, perhaps one day or another someone will have an idea where the bug might stay ?

Hi,
You might consider doing a search on your computer for the file name fs9.exe
Note the location. Tell me what the search reveals.

I am sure you are aware that your created flight plan will not be exported to reside inside the same sub-directory as the fs9.exe file is located. The Idea here is ... if you tell Fsbuild where the fs9.exe file is located then it will "automatically" know where the default location(s) for other files (flight plans) should be saved to.

If you create a flight yourself and save it can you tell me where MSFS saved it at?

In Fsbuild options item 1 (HOME)
Here is what it says for me.
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9
now, if I look inside this sub-directory I will find my fs9.exe file.
From this point I go to settings, make selections there and SAVE the CONFIGURATION.
Then I exit Fsbuild.
Then I start Fsbuild and do a flight plan.
Exoprt the flight plan
My saved flight plan will be automatically sent to the following sub-directory by Fsbuild:
C:\Documents and Settings\myname\My Documents\Flight Simulator Files
Inside this sub-directory I will have the flight plan I just built with with Fsbuild with a name (created by Fsbuild) like KDTWKORD.PLN. This new flight plan will be with all the other flight plans that were saved by MSFS when I saved a flight(s).
Fsbuild automatically gave it this name based on the plan it just built.

Vaughan Martell

Hello,
Thank you for your kind and concise message. In fact the thing appears to be that the file fs9.exe which i can see in my D:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9 subdirectory is not reacheable in FSbuid browser (this is the icon that shows an aircraft) it just wont appear in it .
Best regards,
Yvon

Hi,
When you "right click" on the MSFS icon on your desktop and select properties. Tell me what it says inside the Target Directory.

Are you using MSFS 2004?

Do you have an older version(s) of MSFS on your computer?

Do a search on files with the name *.PLN and tell me what the results directory path is.

This search should list all of the flights you have saved so far.

Regards,
Vaughan Martell

Well, from the icon on the desktop, the target directory is as follows :D:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\fs9.exe.
Yes i am using msfs2004.
I once installed FS 2000 but i removed it.
For the .pln search the directory path is D:\mes documents\fichiers flight simulator .

Hi,
What does mes and fichiers translate to?

My first thought would be, just as a temporary test to see what is going on here, to change the sub-directory names to:

My documents and Flight Simulator Files

Do not run MSFS with the names changed for now. The names can be changed back later.

Then try it (set up Fsbuild again) and see if Fsbuild has an error.

Vaughan Martell

Hi,
Follow up questions.
Are you running Windows XP?
If so, is your D drive a shared drive with write access rights?

Yes i am running XP pro.
Pln files are lying in documents and setting.
I am not sure i quite understand what you mean by changing subdirectory name .In fact i tried to put the fs9.exe file in a new file i renamed into msfs subdirectory so it can appear in fsbuild 2 browser but it ended as unhelpfull.

Hi,
Your flight plan files should be lying in:
documents and settings\your name will appear here\my documents\flight simulator files

Once you tell Fsbuild the location of fs9.exe it will then put the flight plans into the above named directory automatically when they are exported.

Regards,
Vaughan
