Tom, I strongly recommend the ISG Smith's FMS. It is probably the closest I've seen in terms of functionality (and good looks) to the real thing. Many of the FMS units that come with payware planes are useless, IMO.

I would say the cost of the ISG avionics is justified in the FMS alone.

LevelD's 767 FMS from what I can tell works very much like the real Pegasus FMS found in the Boeing 767.

To me it sounds like you just want something that gives you the basic FMS functionality without having to learn how so much right away before you can actually use the FMS.

I added a to ISG1 gauge called the MCU (Master Control Unit), it basically
a limited function GPS with some FMS features.



Its basically designed to be a user friendly FMS so to speak.

For example to load a flight plan...

1) You press the 'FPLN' button, it displays a list of all the flight plans in the ISG/Flight Plans folder.

2) You then press or hold down the 'NEXT' button and you will see the selection bar scroll through the list of files.

3) When you reach the file on this list you wish to use, you press the 'Enter' button, and the flight plan is loaded, and you ready to fly.

Its as easy as 1,2,3. You don't have to do any FMS settings, or activate the flight plan, or set the cost index or any of those required FMS functions.

You can also put FS9 or FSX .pln files in the ISG /FlightPlans folder, and can load those plans as well.

The 'TO' page shows the flight status, what is the active waypoint, the distance, the remaining time etc etc.



You can activate 'LNAV' by pressing the 'Lnav' button on the MCU. That and turning on the autopilots heading hold will cause ISG to fly your flight plan route.

This is a limited functionality gauge, you can't add or remove waypoints, or enter Sid/Stars or Airways. Those sort of functions you need the FMS for.

However the MCU is linked to the FMS, so that same flight plan will be automatically loaded into the ISG FMS (Smiths or Gnsxls) as well. And you can go the FMS at any time and use the FMS features, and functions.

If however if you plan is to try and use the ISG MCU or FMS with the Level-D 767. That probably will not work as the levelD 767 has a custom autopilot that probably will not accept input from another FMS.
