Good morning all,
I've been using ISG for a while now (game-changing product btw) and after having searched the forums extensively I have an issue I simply cannot find an answer to.

After starting FS2004 up in my default flight I change to any ISG equipped aircraft and check the alignment. Every time, no matter where, the alignment does not line up with FS. It is slightly off, thus giving my GNS a slight offset when using GPS coordinates. Smiths FMS shows the same coordinates as the GNSXLS.

Case in point:
Set KSEA rwy 36R (using FlyTampa scenery here) my FS shows a position of N47 25.88, W122 18.47. GNS shows N47 25.52 W122 18.28.
Likewise, when I set myself at KOKC rwy 35R (home airport for now) I get a position in FS of N35 22.7 W97 35.33. GNS shows N35 22.42 W97 35.20.

In both cases, they're CLOSE but the GNS thinks I'm somewhere else. True, most of the time this doesn't affect these things TOO greatly. I still get to where I'm going; but when trying to do a RNAV/GPS approach to an airport, I always end up offset from the runway, even though the EHSI shows me dead on. This effectively limits me to ILS/VOR/LOC approaches in weather...

Is there any way to affect the way ISG 1.8 aligns itself so it's aligned with FS2004?

Thank you!
James McDonald

Thanks for the explanation, totally makes sense.

It's the weirdest thing with the approaches however. I set up using an RNAV/GPS or even following LNAV coupled with an ILS approach and it brings me in misaligned from the runway, usually to the left.

After messing it with a little more and hand flying a GPS approach, I think the difference just comes in from the way LNAV handles waypoints. For some reason, LNAV isn't EXACTLY in the right spot for my FS2004. I don't know why this is but if I just fly using HDG and get the plane right over the spot, it seems to line up alright with the runway. I'll post back if I figure anything out, going to keep messing with it for now thank you for the help!
