Hi,

I have a problem with ISG Smith FMC. When I select DCT and enter a waypoint, it recalculates a new route from the aircraft position at that moment. The a/c is starting to turn and instead of going direct to the waypoint it first starts to intercept the recalculated route. When it reaches the route, it starts following it, by turning inbound the waypoint.

How can I make it go direct the waypoint instead of hunting the recalculated route?

Hi,

Switch to HDG mode and turn your aircraft manually into the direction of the DIRECT. Then do the DCT in the FMS and turn LNAV on again. I have seen, that real world pilots do the same, if the direction change is too big.
