Is the virtavia c-17 for fsx or FS9? Your screenshots show FS9 but their website says for fsx only. Just curious.

Both.

On the retrofits page, there are separate panel.cfg downloads for FS9 and FSX.

Virtavia has separate FS9 , and FSX versions. The FS9 version is about $10 cheaper than the FSX version.

Here are a couple of screens from the ISG Area51 C-17 retrofit.

As you can see I've abandoned having a separate C-17 FMS. It was just taking too long to complete, much of it wasn't faithfull to the real C17's MCD functionality, and it was getting harder to justify having an ISG FMS that really could only be used on one aircraft type. Whereas the ISG C17's MFD and PFD displays can be used on other aircraft. Maybe I'll come back to it later on when I have more FS time available (but then that's what I said about the ISG Trimble GPS gauge).

I have the AREA51 C-17, This morning after advise from members of Vatsim, I bought the ISG v1.8 package, copied the panel.cfg from the site and added to the plane. Tried to load it up the plane, just black MFD screen and it came up that I need a registered copy of FSUIPC, so went and bought that too. restarted flight sim, cockpit is now alive.

I programmed the FMC, but can't seen where to toggle the screen as per the images above with the magenta line navigation display on. Am I missing something?

1) You don't need FSUIPC to use the gauges, if you don't have it just means those features are not available.

2) Use the Area51 retrofit on the website, all the settings are made for you. Just place the panel.cfg file in the area51 / panel folder.

http://www.isgsim.com/?page=panel_libra ... area51_c17

3) To display the ND press the 'ND' button at the bottom of the MFD. Note the Area51 C17 does not space for the function buttons in the 2D panel, you'll have to click in the center of the MFD to open the expanded MFD and you will see the function buttons displayed.

Regards.
