I'm running into two problems with the Smiths FMS - v.1.7 in FS9. I'd be grateful for advice.

I have been using isg gauges in a Project Fokker F70 panel for a long time now without problems. In fact the panel was posted on these boards.

Last night I tried to set up for an ILS app to Rwy 31L at Budapest. I selected 31L and then chose ILS 31L from the menu. Approaching from the south west, the official published transition for 31L is VEBOS with the VEBOS 3L STAR. VEBOS does not show up in the transitions on the Smiths, unless it is the one hiding under 'ROUTE' below RUTOL. I tried this and I don't think so.....

To add to the difficulty, the current Navigraph data (and Eurocontrol charts) have an arrivals 31L plate which shows the VEBOS 3L STAR. But as you can see from the photo these data do not show in the Smiths. In fact none of the published STARs for LHBP show in the Smiths. They do not show up in 2/2 either.

Perhaps I have missed something obvious.

Not sure what's up, Ernie. As you can see I have the 1.7 version.

Thanks, jp. If you read to the end of my first post you will see that I checked page 2/2. Nothing there.

I re-installed v 1.7 from a new FS9.exe download but the problem is still there exactly as before. Since the over-writing bug persists I can only assume that the relevant bit of code has not been modified in my set up. That may give a clue to the other problem with 31L at LHBP.

Has there been any follow up or resolution to this problem?

I've seen this "overlapping" issue several times now using v1.7 for fsx. The last time I came across this issue was enroute to KLAX from KSFO. I was vectored to the ILS at 24L and when I looked at my options in the Smith I noticed a similar situation to what you show in your first pic - information hidden behind the route and missing information. Now that I've come across this thread I plan to retrace the KLAX flight to see if I can better document with pics.

I still have this problem as described in my first post.

I finally had a chance to revist this issue. I'm beginning to think that it may be a user type sequence/selection error? KLAS to KPSP, vectored to 31L; I chose RNAV Y 31L via PSP transition. I first selected the runway, then attempted to select the STAR. The picture showing the overlap is what I get. When I back out and choose Rwy 31L again, I now see that the STAR is already selected and I choose the PSP transition after the having chosen the runway. This time no overlap. The second picture shows my version in FSX.

Thanks. Running FS9 I tried your suggestion for ILS Rwy 31L at LHBP but the overlap remains. There are no STARS listed in the FMS for Rwy 31L at LHBP. VEBOS, a published (by Navigraph and Eurocontrol) transition at LHBP is not listed, unless it is the one being overlapped, if you see what I mean.

I was able to replicate your KPSP approach workaround. The first screenshot reveals overlapping like yours and the second shows the same approach and like you I got rid of the overlap.

You chose PSP as your KPSP transition. What if your transition was the one being overlapped and could not be read? How would you know to select it? Also, I note in your picture the L and R after RNAVY are cut off - like mine.

Whatever else, we both get overlaps at the bottom of page 1 and that should not be!

I guess its possible I fixed it sometime after the 1.7 update.

Cause I can't reproduce the issue in my version.

Regards.
Ernie.
