Hi all,

I've a little mystery that I hope someone can solve for me.

When I have my MFD set to map display, I see an unknown magenta line which starts off map from due north and connects to my "next" waypoint. As I proceed along my route, this mystery line advances to the next waypoint, and the next, etc.

There's no ill effect - LNAV works fine. I'm just curious as to the meaning / source of this line and whether or not I can de-activate it. :)

I had intended to attach a screenshot, but in trying to do so I see a forum message - Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached..

Thanks Ernie!

Here's a view of that line taken on a KPHX - KSFO trip during a stretch from PRFUM to KADDY to BLD.

On the left view I'm approaching PRFUM and the line can be seen to the north of PRFUM. On the right view, I've passed that waypoint and the line is now to the north of KADDY.

No idea yet.

I'll need the flight plan you loaded into the FMS to look into it further.

Also I notice the ATC boundaries are displayed, turn that off and see if it makes any difference.

Regards.
Ernie.

Hi Ernie,

The line exists no matter if I'm running in LNAV or using FSX GPS, or with any of the ISG display options - TCAS, boundaries, VORs, APs, etc.

However I was generating an ISG route plan to include with this post when I stumbled across a new wrinkle. If I load an ISG route plan, the mystery line doesn't appear. It only appears when I use the "Load from active FS plan" function in the Smiths FMS.

The catch for me is that I use that function constantly - I depend on another addon to generate my route / .pln files and to autoload them into FSX.

Again, this is a minor item that does not effect use or performance - merely an oddity.

Regards,
