Fsbuild-2 Flight Planner

Now that I have learned how to properly use and load the system, I was following the tutorial from the webpage, however my aircraft would not follow the flight plan as it was programmed in the FMS while LNAV selected. I had to resort to flying with heading selected. I tried advancing the waypoints, but it didn't make any difference. I would get the turn que (Green arc)on the MSD but the command would not be followed once the waypoint was reached. I had to resort to slewing the heading to the next waypoint and select heading.

Is there a selector switch to select between NAV and GPS that could cause this problem?
