Ernie

As you might know, POSKY has removed all its 737 panel downloads due to some bloke leaving the group a while back. I've attempted a merge with PMDG 737 without success. Anyways, I want a POSKY 736. I also tried using your ISG 737 Experience retrofit but the background to the panel was missing - I just got some gauges in a black background.

Can you point me in the right direction? I can use FS Panel Studio a little - I'm no expert. Should I start with the default 737 panel and take it from there, or should I try to tweak the PS 737 retrofit which seems to be highly rated?

Many thanks

John

John,

Did you get the panel from Simviation first. The retro fit files on Ernies home page only contain the config file. There are also many good 737NG panels out there to work with. Avsim, Flightsim etc. Mastering FSPS can be a rewarding venture and perhaps one of the most useful FS tools.

Thanks, Randy. I've now got the POSKY 736 flying using Andy Karlstetter's 2.03 panel merge for the Moach Experience 737, and Ernie's 737 Experience retrofit. The panel looks good, and everything seems to work. However, the VSI doesn't activate - the green light does not illuminate. Any ideas?

I am trying to improve the Karlstetter panel by replacing the PFD and ND with ISG. Using FS Panel Studio when I call up ISG gauges I just get a black background, sometimes with a green X.
Not sure what to do to bring up a 'live' gauge or does that come later?
Thanks.

That is sorted. It all displayed in FS9 perfectly.

However, the VSI doesn't activate - the green light does not illuminate.

- When you say VSI. I will assume you are referring to the Verticle Speed Indicator gauge. Therefore the Autopilot VS. Not sure about this particular AP. But sometimes the ALT has to be activated in advance of the VS and a higher or lower altitude selected.

-As far as the ISG1 gauges not showing up. Did you use FSPS to install them? Are any other ISG1 addons displaying? If other are and the PFD and MFD are not. I would say its simply an installation in the panel oversight. If none are showing up. May be a ISG1 installation or registration problem?

Thanks, Randy. I managed to merge the POSKY 737-600 with a simplified version of Andy Karlstetter's 2D panel. I replaced his PFD with the ISG B777 and his ND with the ISG Boeing version. This modified panel also has ISG pop-up FMS, MCU, EFIS windows; AK's combined radio/throttle panel; default GPS, map etc. AK's overhead panel is rudimentary but a lot better visually than the default 737 version. The modified panel will only work in FS9 and there is no virtual cockpit.

Randy, when I referred to the VSI I meant the 'button'. It doesn't seem to do anything. The Vertical Speed setting gauge near top right, which is linked to the PFD, only works when ALT HOLD is active i.e the green light is on.

The first screenie shows the aircraft in the initial climb out with the ALT HOLD showing green. I was confused by this - in fact the ALT HOLD in this panel is more like a LVL CHANGE button. I can and should fix the background bitmap.

The second shows the plane level at 6000ft again with the ALT HOLD showing green - at this point a LVL CHANGE button would go off.

To change the way these buttons work would require coding changes I guess (XML?). But once you get the hang of it, it all works well and is consistent.

This modified panel can be used for the POSKY 737-700 and I imagine also for the -800 and -900 although I've not tested these last two.
