Hello Ernie,

I have an issue with the Smith's FMC. Before I start let me give the basics. I'm running FSX using the default CRJ700 running 1.6 upgrade. My issue is that every time I try to delete a way point I get the "THEN 0000 " display in the FMC. No matter how many times I do It, I get the same thing. When I click on the applicable LSK, I keep getting a Disco entry in the scratch pad. The bottom line is that every time I tried to alter the flight plan whether adding or deleting a way point I always get that disco waypoint added to the flight plan. Any ideas on how I can fix this problem? Thanks

Try this:

Click the LSK next to the waypoint that comes after the discontinuity. This should put the name of that waypoint down in the scratchpad.

Then, click the LSK next to the discontinuity. The waypoint should now be displayed in place of the discontinuity, followed by the rest of your route.

Thanks for reply. Any way, I tried your suggestion but it didn't work. I've attach a picture of the FMC panel and MCU and as you can see that "Disco" I'm assuming is a way point gets added to the flight plan some how. Again, I'm unable to delete it at all. I'm puzzled, any other suggestions?

I starting having the same problem as well with my and i cant remove them as well. Mines sending me off my route by about 8000nm. Also having the problem of it not picking up waypoints when in spot view on long flights had to cancel 2 flights after about 8 hours each.

Gentlemen, please forgive me if I am wrong here but I think you might not be operating the Smiths FMC correctly on this waypoint issue.

Whenever you delete a waypoint, THERE WILL BE A DISCONTINUITY. That's not an error, that's just how it works. To get rid of it, you have to select the next waypoint down and then insert it into the slot where the discontinuity was and execute. Here are some screens to show you what I mean:

First, here I have created two discontinuities in my route:

To get rid of the first discontinuity, I clicked the LSK to the left of waypoint "DAVYS" (boxed in red), then clicked the LSK to the left of the discontinuity just above it (boxed in yellow), followed by "Exec" (boxed in green) to change the route. The result looked like this:

To get rid of the last discontinuity, I just repeated that process one more time...click the LSK to the left of DAVYS and then click the LSK to the left of the discontinuity and hit 'exec'...result looked like this - discontinuities gone.
