Sorry about this, Ernie, but the feelthere A320 takes no notice whatsoever of the Smith FMS input. I activated and executed as per the tutorial - I am not unfamiliar with FMS. It seems that the aircraft for some reason does not 'see' the FMS. Yes, I am using the correct 4012 ident.

Again, I am almost certainly missing some very obvious step.

Have you installed the LNAV and VNAV buttons anywhere?

Here is what will need to operate the Smith's Style FMS:

1) The FMS itself GaugeXX= isg1!SMITHS_FMS
-Why? For obvious reasons. To program the route, etc.

2) The ND (Navigation Display) GaugeXX= isg1!HW_B737_ND
-Why? To see a visual representation of your route. This also functions as your HSI when you aren't flying by the FMS. And it displays TCAS info.

3) The EFIS CNTR GaugeXX= isg1!HW_B737_EFIS_CNTR
-Why? This controls the different displays/modes of the ND, including TCAS.

4) LNAV button GaugeXX=ISG1!LNAV
-Why? This turns on Lateral Navigation, i.e. when autopilot is on, and then you turn on LNAV, it links the FMS to your heading bug, and thus controls your aircraft left and right (laterally, or horizontally)

now, this is not needed to use the FMS, but...
5) VNAV button GaugeXX=ISG1!VNAV
-Why? This turn on Vertical Navigation, i.e. when autopilot is on, and then you turn on VNAV, it links the FMS to your altitude / V/S bug(s), and thus controls your aircraft up and down (vertically). Note, autopilot, and LNAV must be on before VNAV will activate.

Well, not to sound rude, but it seems that you don't quite have a grasp on how a Flight Management System works, and not just how to install the ISG gauges in particular. It's a System comprised of multiple insturments working together. Read this article on It will hope fully clarify how things work.
