From what I've been able to determine, there appears to be a lower limit to the parameter WptChgDist=

When I lowered mine below 1 mile, it returned to the default setting of 3 miles. So is 1 mile the lowest you can set it?

Its not really important, Ernie. I was just experimenting one day to see if I could get it closer. I think that most GPS's switch closer to the waypoint than one mile, although I have to say its not a big deal and I wouldn't want to mess with the ability to capture HOLDs etc., just to have it switch over so close.

My wish list for future releases is:

1. have the FMS capture holds correctly and if possible, show the entry type available (e.g. DIRECT, TEARDROP). Presently, I have to quit LNAV mode and enter the hold manually (assuming its anything other than direct) and then set up the hold on the way back in.

2. have the FMS adhere to all crossing restrictions entered into it (I still find it a rather hit or miss affair).

I have the FMS & gauges in the DF727 & I have fiddled a bit with the changeover distance. I find that 1nm is very close to flying over a waypoint and in a STAR or SID can be a bit excessive, not so bad once enroute though. I've settled on 2nm for sid, star & enroute. As you said we are working with something which is designed to fit into any aircraft as opposed to a custom gauge. Still the DF727 is improved so much by having your gauges. Thank you.
