Hi,

I am really stuck and can't seem to change from AS6 to ASE please could somebody give me some easy instructions that I can follow this is what is in the settings and options thing of FSBuild at moment.

At the moment in the options screen then Export Directory for FSBuild it has Active Sky 6:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Modules.

Then in the Settings screen the weather says AS6.

Firstly would I need to change that to C:\Program Files\Hi Fi\ASE\then which folder?

Then in the settings screen again how would I change that from AS6 to ASE?

Many Thanks

Jason

Jason,

I use FSX so the following may not be totally correct. I,ll try to help!

Firstly the settings for weather in FSB remain as AS6, what you need to do is change the directory to where AS6 points to.

In my configuration with a partitioned disk this ends up as :D:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\HiFi\ASE\Weather. Basically you tell FS Build to look at AS6 which in turn points to the current weather snapshot file.

Use the 'AS6' setting.

Regards.

Jason,

First.
Does the folder you mentioned (C:\Program Files\Hi Fi\ASE\weather) have this file inside it:
current_wx_snapshot.txt

If not, search your hard drive and tell me where it is located.

Jason,

I think I know what you should do.
So, let us do a quick test and see what happens.

Ok,
So your file is here:
C:\Documents and Settings\My Name\Application Data\Hi Fi\ASE\Weather

Start FSBuild then:

1. Options, Export, Browse (click on the AS6 button) for you path to current_wx_snapshot.txt file on your PC.
This one: C:\Documents and Settings\My Name\Application Data\Hi Fi\ASE\Weather

2. Options, Settings, Weather, pulldown arrow and then select (click on it) AS6
3. Save Config Options button (click on it)
4. Exit FSBuild
5. Restart FSBuild
6. In Build Options make sure Apply Winds Aloft Data has a CheckMark.
7. Do any flight plan
8. Verify you have wind data in the last column of the resulting route log.
9. Verify the plan exported properly to your aircraft selection(s).

Jason,

Start FSBuild.
In Build Options make sure Apply Winds Aloft Data has a CheckMark.
Do any flight plan.

You do not have to wait to do an actual aircraft flight.

Verify you have wind data in the last column of the resulting route log.
Verify the plan exported properly to your aircraft selection(s).
Note:
I edited my previous post to include this information.

** We should first make sure FSBuild for FS9 is working perfect.
Then we will worry about FSX.

For FSX:
You will install FSFuild a second time into a different installation folder on your PC.
Then, all settings will be for FSX instead of FS9.
You will know how to do it after setting up for FS9 perfectly.
