Hi this has probably been covered but Im using FSBuild ok and have been for several years now, however after a change to Win 7 64 bit and FSX I am experiencing troubles with the export function. Specifically to the PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS folder.

I have setup the paths correctly in the options and saved. However the plan is going to the following path:--

C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS

What is happening here please??

Also can someone give me the correct URL to use to get the NATS tracks downloaded. Thanks in advance.

Mike.

Mike,
Where should the flight plans go to?

Should be:--

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS\

and this is the path that is setup in FSBuild but the plans goto the one on the last post.

Mike,

In my FSBuild, Options, Export_Directories
My FS_Home is: C:\FSX
The location of the FSX.exe file.
Your path will be different.

And, on my system, the PMDG Plans go here:
C:\FSX\PMDG\Flightplans

What is your FS_Home?

Did you copy stuff (files / settings etc) from your old setup?

Your folders (like Program Files (x86))do not have "permissions problems" do they?

Ok, I feel like Im going round in circles here so lets put it all in one post ;;__

Clean install using win 7 64 bit onto brand new computer with no files carried over from previous system.

I installed FSX to the default location which is:-

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X

I installed the PMG MD11 into default location which has placed a PMDG folder at the correct place within the sim and this contains the FLIGHTPLANS folder as here:-

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS

These are the paths that are saved and showing in FSBuild 2.3.1

When exporting to PMDG 737/747 its putting the .rte file here:-

C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS

I want to know why its putting plans at

C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS

instead of

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS

I always use default install options and therefore wouldnt know about permissions etc

Mike.

Set the 'FS_HOME' path to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X

That's the only setting you need to make for PMDG.

Fsbuild knows the location of the PMDG folders relative to the FS_HOME path.

Entering the PMDG path directly will not work.

It works this way so that you only need enter one setting for all the addon the reside inside your FS directory.

Regards.

Haaha, Cheers Ernie but thats exactly what I did (I follow instructions)

I only gave the other paths to show that they are all correct. If you look above you will see that FS_HOME is exactly what you state, and FSBuild filled in the remaining paths correctly.

However, I have now found the problem ---

Win 7 is very critical about permissions. As soon as I set the shortcut and the fsbuild main exe to run as administrator -- the plans are now going to the correct folder, so this may come in useful to others with this problem.

Thanks guys.

PS i saw a post about an update to 2.3.7.? can you tell me where this is please.

Mike.

Mike,

Where in your post did you say the path you used for FSBuild "FS_Home" exports?
I missed it twice now.

And, those permissions are tricky!

Hi there,

I am having similar problems. I am using Windows 7 64bit with Fsx.

I choose a flight plan, and in the export menu of FSBuild 2 I select FSX (xml) and PMDG 737/747 (MSFS).

When I go into the flight planner of MS FSX the flight plan is available however when in the PMDG 747 it is not available in the Co Route option on the FMC.

If I look at C:\MS FSX\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS the plan is not there. I have loaded FSX directly here because UT2 would not work with it loaded into Program Files (x86).

Maybe this is the problem, is there any work around?

Regards

Ken

You'll find the plans in the path I mentioned above -- this is obviously wrong and the fms flightplan load wont look there for it.

It is just down to running FSBuild as administrator. As soon as you do this you will find the plans going to the correct place.

When I checked the PMDG/FLIGHTPLANS folder properties --- I found that by default the folder cannot be updated unless you have administitive priviledges. This is why running FSBuild as administrator cures the problem.

VON the home path is whereever you installed FSX to ---- which will probably be different to mine -- so its pointless giving you that info

Mike,

You mentioned: "VON the home path is whereever you installed FSX to"

That is true, and I was never confused about where it is on my system as I outliked by example to you.

But, specifically, you did not previously mention "FS_HOME" ... anywhere in you posts.
That is what I and Ernie posted.

In FSBuild it is the path to your FS9/FSX's .exe file.
and it must be here in FSBuild:
Options, FS2004/FSX, FS_HOME

Glad to hear your "permissions" fixed the problem, as I had also suggested.
