Fsbuild-2 Flight Planner

I just switched over to FSX sp2 and found Gatekeeper no longer works is their another way to set gates? Or do I need to start a flight then slew to the gate I want?

When you start FSBuild.
Go to "build options" menu.
Then select Start Gatekeeper after FS export.

For a test.
Without MSFS running.

Go to the Gatekeeper directory.
Doubleclick on gatekeeper.exe
It should run and bring up a list of your flight plans.

Assume you are not using gatekeeper for now and you know the gate you want ... like, find a gate using an AFCAD program.

Edit the flight plan or the FSbuild file to get you to the desired gate.

In the FSbuild file: fsb_perf_rwy.txt *** back up your file first!

Simple fix. Download the latest version of Bgl2Xml from Avsim.com. Here's a link:

Extract it to the directory where you installed GateKeeper. Back up bglxml.exe by renaming it to something like bglxml.exe.BAK and rename Bgl2Xml.exe -> bglxml.exe. Run GateKeeper, load your FP, and you're all set.

One more thing: GateKeeper chokes on AFX (Flight1 Airport Facilitator X) files. I have no clue why, but I've found that the simplest solution to this is decompiling the AFX file with ADE (Airport Design Editor) and recompiling it, put it right back into the directory that the original scenery file was in, and either back up the original AFX file or delete it. All you've gotta do is open the BGL file, go to File->Compile Airport, set the directory where you want it to be saved, let it do its thing, then go back up the original AFX file (or delete it, whatever).

I just figured this out, can't believe I didn't figure it out sooner. Here's a common-sense fix that doesn't involve GateKeeper. Start up FSX, FSBuild, and whatever other addons you use. When you get to the "Free Flight" menu, load up the airport and gate that you want to depart from. Then build your FP, have it exported, blah blah blah. Click the "Flight Planner" icon in FSX, go to "Load" and find the FP you just built and load it. When it asks if you want to move your aircraft to the departure airport, click "No" (because you've already moved it there). Voila, that's it, load up your plane, set the time, weather, whatever, and click "Fly Now" and you'll be sitting at your gate with your FP loaded into the GPS.

1.- Go to "free flight"
2.- Load your (FSbuild) flight plan as usual
3.- Click Yes to movo your aircraft to the departure airpot
4.- Click "Change destination airport" and select your same airport
5.- Instead of departure from a runway....Just change to the desired gateway
